The wind kisses the leaves,
They are charmed,
turning yellow,
blushing,
flushing orange
They shake in delight against the powdered sky,
whispering secrets in my ears
I watch the wind swim in the water,
trailing the sun
I lay down in blades of green,
gazing at the carpet of clouds above me
The flame of the sun has quelled
The powdered sky is stained cerise,
mirroring the leaves below that have reddened,
reddened to their fullest
I feel them fall from the bark that once held them dear
They land on my chest in an embrace
Becoming fabric,
becoming cloth to clothe me,
and I begin to realize
I once flushed yellow,
I too have blushed orange,
one day, I will redden to my fullest
I am the same as those wind-kissed leaves
Our fates are symmetrical
Soon, I will become lost in this same fabric that now adorns me
